How do I tie the bow on the back of my daughter's dress?

OK, I am the mother of two girls (and obviously a woman myself) and I have no idea how to properly tie the bow on the back of my daughter's dresses! For anyone not in the know, if you tie it like a shoelace, it looks floppy and sideways and this is not the look I'm going for! Is there a special knot to use? Can you find me a description WITH pictures? I have searched and found descriptions but I need more help. Thanks for anyone who can lead me in the right direction!
